Hi, I’m Stephanie.
M.Sc SLP-(C)
I am a speech therapist, writer, and advocate for positive change in healthcare.
As a care provider to children and families throughout British Columbia, I firmly believe in a wholistic and strengths-based approach that is centered around trust, connection, and the joy which belonging brings to our lives.
“The world needs a sense of worth, and it will achieve it only by its people feeling that they are worthwhile."
~ Fred Rogers
“Before parent coaching I felt worried, unprepared and overwhelmed. Now I feel positive, encouraged, and feel like I can do this. I can get my little boy to where he needs to be. Thank you so much for the last 8 weeks. It's been so good and so insightful. I have learned so much.”

What I Stand For
Building Resilience Through Communication
Learning how to talk about our feelings and challenges can help us stay strong when tough things happen. It’s about learning how we can share our problems with others, listening to their advice, and getting support.
Belonging as Medicine
Feeling like you are part of a group or community can help you feel better, both in your heart and mind. When you belong, you feel loved, supported, and cared for, which can make you feel stronger and more confident.
Equity and Inclusion
Committed to making sure that all kids get the help they need with their communication, no matter who they are or where they come from.
“Before Stephanie started working with our 4 year old son he was very difficult to understand and quite shy. Stephanie worked with him for about 7 months and within that time his speech completely changed! We could understand him very clearly and because of this he gained a lot more confidence which in turn changed his entire personality. He wasn’t afraid to speak up any more nor was he afraid of talking to others because he was now understood. We didn’t realize how much his speech impediment was affecting him physiologically and emotionally until Stephanie corrected his challenges.”

My Services
-
Community Based Support Services
High quality, in-person care across communities in BC that have limited access to speech therapy services. I work in collaboration with providers like early childhood educators, speech language pathology assistants (SLPA’s), public health nurses, education assistants, teachers & school districts.
My model of care is hybrid meaning that I travel to your community as often as you need (generally every 1-4 months). During this time I can provide assessment and intervention as hands-on coaching for those that know their children best–the community-based care providers!
-
Individual & Group-Based Speech Therapy
The need for connection is what makes us human. When we can communicate with others, we can connect with others.
Whether your child’s barrier to connection is speech sounds, language, social communication, or managing difficult emotions, 1:1 speech therapy may be helpful.

Parent Support & Coaching
As a parent you are the expert on your child. You know them best, and so you are a big part of their speech therapy journey. Studies have shown that when parents can practice speech therapy strategies at home, their children have better outcomes.
Parent coaching sessions are fun, strengths-based, and practical. If you’re the parent of a child who has trouble communicating then this option could be for you.
"Words cannot express how amazing Stephanie is! She is a part of our family. Stephanie has been seeing our son for about 2 years and our son's journey has been amazing. She's extremely attentive, caring and is fully invested in providing the best care. Stephanie is very approachable and thinks outside the box. Our son is 8 years old, has a brain injury and has been diagnosed with Epilepsy. Stephanie makes every session with our son enjoyable! Our entire family looks forward to seeing her! She has some amazing games!"

Let’s Work Together
I provide individual and group-based speech therapy services throughout British Columbia.
I also provide community focused care for schools, and other organisations who want to cultivate resilience, loving kindness, and confidence in their young people.
“When we first started with Stephanie, our son was freshly diagnosed and non verbal. We were scared and didn't know what to expect, but hopeful she could improve his speech and in any way possible. In just two short years she has exceeded expectations both professionally and personally. She is not only extremely skilled at what she does but is also the most kind and caring individual as well-we've considered her a part of our family and are so thankful for all she's done for us. We have and always will highly recommend her to everyone!”
